Abstract: In this paper, random copolymer of methyl methacrylate and butyl acrylate was prepared via bulk polymerization. The influences of concentration of initiator, monomer ratio on the mechanical, optical, and other properties were investigated. The structure and properties of copolymers were characterized using 1H-NMR, DMA, and SEM. With the increasing content of butyl acrylate, the loss modulus decreased. When the content of butyl acrylate was 25 %, the impact strength increased by 43 %, while light transmission remained at 92 %.
