Effects of Expandable Graphite and Phosphates on the Fire Retardance of Unsaturated Polyester

摘要: 研究了可膨胀石墨(EG)与磷酸酯并用对不饱和聚酯(UPR)的阻燃性能、力学性能和结构的影响。采用氧指数、锥形量热分析、热重分析、红外光谱和扫描电子显微镜等方法进行测试和表征。结果表明, EG与磷酸酯并用使UPR的氧指数得到大幅度提高,热释放速率和质量损失速率大大降低;UPR/ EG/磷酸酯体系具有良好的阻燃性能和力学性能,其冲击断面呈韧性断裂。

Abstract: The effects of the combination of expandable graphite (EG) and phosphates on the structure and fire retardancy of unsaturated polyester (UPR) were investigated through limiting oxygen index, cone calorimetry test, thermogravimetric analysis, infra-red spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscope (SEM). It showed that the limiting oxygen index was increased markedly, heat release rate and mass loss rate of UPR were decreased significantly by adding both EG and phosphate. The fracture surface of impact samples showed a ductile feature.
